Horses

An Image from a set of photos I took on a Short road trip last month. The negative was processed at a local photo store. I'm tore between like or disliking the high grain in the image. The film I used is Neopan400 which is a high contrast, large grain film, but the grain I think is abnormal and it's probably due to the developer the photo store used. Also the uneven lighting is caused from something that happened during developing, at least I think. Whatever happened, this is the result.

I think it is interesting. Has a stormy look to it. I don't know that much about film. I often used Ilford, though. A photographer friend has gotten some amazing effect using b/w infrared. It takes special processing, though.

I didn't see the stormy aspect of the photo, I'm glad you pointed it out Dan. I've been thinking about this image and I don't think I like it because of the white horse in the middle.

It's all so subjective how people look at something. I actually like the white horse! He is in a way right in the eye of the 'storm', as though he has been singled out by the sky. It creates a mysterious, even other-worldly kind of drama. It is though something is about to happen, and it has to do with the storm and that horse. Like, for instance...it could be mythological...the birth of Pegasus.

I know in framing a shot, we usually think the picture more dynamic if the central subject or focus is off-center. That centering it would make it more static....but, in this case, at least as I look at it, it is more powerful...your eyes go to it like a mandala.

I like it! This white horse is radiating light...so beautiful! There's something unnatural in this natural paysage :)

I agree, the white horse is unnaturally bright, but I'm glad you like it. Thanks.
