This is an image of the Castle at Quebec City Canada an image I took at the end of my visit there. I instantly fell in love with the city which is truly a hidden treasure of North America. The food is amazing, the coffee is amazing and the people are friendly and humble.
When I was at Quebec, I had a chance to to go to the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec. They are currently having an exhibition featuring paintings by master Spanish painters titled From EL Greco to Dali. They had some amazing pieces that really moved me beyond words. My Favorite piece was A portrait of a Woman by Julio Romero de Torres (below.)
Seeing the original was so moving. This copy does it no justice. The day I arrived to Quebec the sky was clear and the sun bright, but the air was crisp and sharp with a thousand needles that tickled my nose because of the cold. The next morning I awoke to the city covered with a white blanket of soft snow. I had breakfast, walked around the city one more time, had the best croissant I think I ever had then drove to the museum where I spent more time than I planed, but it was worth every minute of it.
The drive back to the states wasn't very eventful. every time I stooped for either food or gas the people are friendly and very helpful. the drive was not eventful 'till I crossed the border where I was treated as a suspect, especially since my last name is Ahmed and my accent is more like a Northeast accent and not an Arkansas accent where I was borne which the border agents thought was very suspicious. For some reason it also didn't help that I visited India which I think they confused it with Pakistan. However, I won't ruin this post with the self-inflicted paranoia of the US. I'll end with Canada and how much I found the people beautiful and alive. There are few places that brought tears to my eyes as I was leaving, Quebec is the latest addition to that list.

Hey, check out kpfa.org sometime. Streaming and archives on radio from the Pacifica network. Pretty good.
Sounds like a nice trip. Nothing like standing right in front of an extraordinary work of art!
